Cyclosporin is toxic to the kidney, therefore kidney function usually declines w/ chronic use.
Hi WD,
As far as I know, there have been no reported incidence of long term side effects.
The general side effects are:
Dizziness/headaches/nausea/runny nose/insomnia/abdominal discomfort/rash/itching/chest tightness and difficulty breathing/black stools/blood in urine/dark urine/jaundice/fast or irregular heartbeat/loss of coordination.
Your wife may suffer from any or all of these side effects, or as often happens, after a year she may have found that any side effects have disappeared. But nothing new should occur with long term use.
I hope this helps you both.
