GOOD IRON COUNT IS 12 OR ABOVE
You were told that you have iron deficiency anemia which isn’t the same as aplastic anemia, which your grandmother had. Assuming you had a serum iron run, normal levels are from 50 to 150 micrograms per deciliter (ug/dL). Iron deficiency anemia is correctable with iron supplements (ferrous sulfate) but the probable cause still needs to be determined. As far as your lipids are concerned, I don’t know what statin medication you take but I suggest you speak to your primary doctor about it.
Contact your OB/Gyn and ask them to fax the labs to your primary. Have your primary care doctor’s fax number on hand.
