How can I get my teaching license in special education ( autism area)?
Hi. I have a bachelores degree and want to work as a special education teacher in Autism ,anybody knows what the process is to get my teaching license in the state of Virginia? thanks for your help
I went to University of Phoenix Online and graduated with a Cross Categorical MA in Special Ed. Before that, I had a BA in Communication, so I needed 43 more credits to get my MA. It had its pros and cons. I could do my homework when it was convenient and I did not have to worry about child care. However, it was kind of a pain in the butt getting a degree from a state that I did not live in because of all the paperwork and red tape stuff I had to do in order to get my teaching cert. in the state I live in. I am not from Virgina. But, I am a special education teacher, that teaches autism. I would just contact your local college and ask them what you would need for certification. In my state (IL) I just have to have my certification in special education, no special certificate for autism. Good Luck to you. You have chosen a very rewarding and challenging career.
Well im autisc and im high functioning and well if you rly want to help kids like me then you make me happy lol. my mum was a Special ed teacher. all you hav to do is go to Tafe its easy just fill out the form that you want to do and its a 3 year corse
