Fanconi Anemia Is An Inherited Anemia That Leads To Bone Marrow Failure ( Aplastic Anemia).?
It is an autosomal recessive disorder. It occurs equally in males and females, and found in all ethnic groups; it can affect all systems of the body, and many patients eventually develop acute myelogenous leukemia at an early age; they also develop a variety of other head, neck, gynecological and or gastrointestinal cancers; the patient can be cured of the FA blood problem by having a successful bone marrow transplant, but must still have regular examinations to watch for signs of cancer. A couple (both with FA) who have already had one child with FA decide that they would like to have another child.
a.) What was the genotype of the child with FA?
b.) What is the probability that their next child will have FA?

I Contracted Aplastic Anemia Last March And The Possible Cause Was Exhaust Gases. Has Anyone Else Got This.?
In most cases, doctors do not know the cause of aplastic anemia. In about 20% of patients, the disease develops from an inherited disorder, such as Fanconi anemia. Aplastic anemia may also be caused by high doses of radiation or certain chemicals or viruses. There is evidence that in many people aplastic anemia is an autoimmune disease. This means that the body’s immune system is reacting against itself. The immune system attacks the bone marrow and stops it from making enough blood cells.
Is it the doctor saying that the cause is exhaust gases, or you? I would think its very unusual for a doctor to make this comment as in most cases there is no way of telling!;
Is Aplastic Anemia Treatable?
Depends on the cause…if it is caused by something the person has been exposed to..like a drug that is causing it, usually just removing the cause will straighten it out in time.

Has Any One Had A 100% Answer About Their Cause Of Aplastic Anemia?
I was diagnosised with AA two years ago. I see a AA specialist at M.D. Anderson hospital in Houston. Since I worked for a sheriff’s office and routinely worked around a Shell refinery she initially believed that it was probably exposure to benzine. Over the course of the last two years and after studying her patients, she remarked at my last check up that she strongly suspects the underlying cause is viral.
Her reasoning was that almost 100% of her patients, despite improved blood counts in all areas, constantly complain of flu like fatique. That is the case for me. Despite having decent red blood cell counts, I always feel like I am coming down with the flu.
