Does Anyone Have Any Ideas How I Can Raise Autism Awareness In My School?

I will be a senior in high school this fall. After high school i want to be a special education teacher and work with autistic kids. A lot of people in my school make fun of kids in the special education classes and I’m sick of it. I think it is mostly because they do not understand. I this problem can be solved and someone needs to do something, and start somewhere. Anyone have any ideas how i can raise autism awareness in my high school?

Is There Sensory Integration Services Available For Adults With Autism?

Hi, I have Asperger’s Syndrome and didn’t know it, until well into my adulthood. I wonder if there is therapy available for adults on the Autism spectrum? I don’t date because of the very fact that I am not acclimated to the Human Touch. This means that I can get sensory overload on what other people would regard as basic physical affection. Are there reliable therapies available, to let Autistic adults join the dating world in a functional fashion?

My husband and I are still in shock but we need to everything possible to help him. How do I hire a full time ABA specialist? What do I look for? Do you know about a pay scale? Do You Think That Nagging A Child With Autism Helps Them To Pay Attention?

My son has mild autism and with therapy we hope he can live as anyone with a job and a family because he has a normal IQ. I listen in outside the door at my son’s school and I hear him being told,you are not paying attention over and over again. If he forgets to pick up his folder the teacher said did you forget your folder in a strong tone ,not very nice sounding. He tries very hard to please he does not complain but I am the one who does not think this is good. Am I wrong?

What Is The Reason For A A Lot Of Young Kids Being Diagnosed With Autism?

I think its because of the all the druggies in the 60s and 70s them having kids and because of all the drugs in their system its causing their kids to have autism. Kids around 10-15 it seems i never see older people with austism but I’m not sure and I wanted to know really badly what other people know and think.

How Can You Tell If An Adult Has Autism?

My Husband has been diagnosed with chronic urticaria angie-o-adeema(sorry spelling) basically his mast cells r breaking down, and he is allergic to a lot of things including his own system, his mother told me he was classed as a “slow child”, didn’t utter a word till he was 3….now im adding things up here…and what i see is a form of autism….what do u think?

I want to work with a kid i know who happens to have autism. We have gotten along since the day i met him and i want to do more with kids who have autism. i have tried to research it and nothing has helped me.
