My Mom is medium risk she would be high risk but she did not go into puberty in till she was like 16.There is breast cancer in the family my aunt had it and I think some other family members have had it.I started puberty at like 9 and by 11 I was a B cup and had my period.How high is the chance of me getting breast cancer?When should I get a mammogram(Im 13 so I dont need one for a long time)?When should I start doing self checks?

My mother was diagnosed with early an stage of breast cancer about 5 years ago and pretty much had to have the breast removed.She’s completely ok now but I’m starting to worry about the same thing happening to me.I’m turning 19 later this year and have hear a number of theories on how genetics will affect my chances.A friend of my mother’s claims that every disease is caused by what’s going on with people on the inside/emotionally which scares the hell out of me because I’m like my mother in a lot of way in the way I react to things.Are there any proven factors than reduce my chances?My mother is the only one is the family to ever have had cancer.

What Is It With Women Getting Mastectomies Just Because There Is A Chance Of Breast Cancer?
Just saw a story on the Today Show about a woman who had, based on new genetic testing methods, an 85% chance of getting breast cancer and so she had her healthy breasts removed. Sounds sadomasochistic to me to do something like that when you are just as likely to die in accidents or other diseases and the testing is new so who knows if she would have gotten the disease. There was a history of breast cancer in her family but a history dosen’t mean you are going to have it, there is a history of everything in my family but the things I ended up suffering from nobody else had. Everyone is going to die anyway why chop up your body to try and avoid the eneventabtle?
These stories make me sick!

My grandma and mother both got diagnosed with breast cancer when they were 33, and my grandma only had it once, but my mother had it four times. i heard it was gentic, and i am wondering if maybe there is an oncologist that would know what my chances are. my grandma and mother both lived through all cancer(s). How Would You Go About Getting An Autism Diagnosis For A Young Adult?
My brother showed many signs of Autism as a child and my mother neglected us so he never got diagnosed. The school labeled him ADHD but now that I’m an adult I see that his behavior was not ADHD at all. I am pretty convinced he has either Autism or Aspergers. (sp?) This is the first opportunity we’ve had to get him some answers because our biological mother is finally out of the picture. He is 19. If anyone has any help that would be great!
