What Is The Reason For A A Lot Of Young Kids Being Diagnosed With Autism?

I think its because of the all the druggies in the 60s and 70s them having kids and because of all the drugs in their system its causing their kids to have autism. Kids around 10-15 it seems i never see older people with austism but I’m not sure and I wanted to know really badly what other people know and think.

What Are My Chances Of Getting Breast Cancer?

My mother was diagnosed with early an stage of breast cancer about 5 years ago and pretty much had to have the breast removed.She’s completely ok now but I’m starting to worry about the same thing happening to me.I’m turning 19 later this year and have hear a number of theories on how genetics will affect my chances.A friend of my mother’s claims that every disease is caused by what’s going on with people on the inside/emotionally which scares the hell out of me because I’m like my mother in a lot of way in the way I react to things.Are there any proven factors than reduce my chances?My mother is the only one is the family to ever have had cancer.

Anyone Have A Child Who Is Very Young And Displaying Autism Signs?

I have an 18 month old who is exhibiting all the key signs of autism. He has been referred to a pediatrician who also thinks he has autism. I am really having difficulty finding ways to help him cope. I have a lot of people helping him, but we haven’t been able to find some real key comfort things to help him.

Does anyone else have any children who were diagnosed with autism young? How did you cope? How did you help your child?

Does Anyone Have Any Ideas On Calming A 7 Year Old With Autism And Adhd?

My son has been diagnosed with autism and adhd. The older he gets, the more impulsive and hyperactive he becomes. It is often hard to deal with him, especially in public, because of his behavior. He is receiving Occupational Therapy once a week in school, and will also be receiving an additional hour of outside OT soon. He is not currently on medication, as the neurologists have told me that a lot of meds that work for ADHD have adverse effects in kids with autism. Plus I am nervous about the effects they may have on him. We tried Focalin for a while, which had no benefit and even seemed to make him more aggressive. He is also on a gluten free-casein free diet. Any informative suggestions would be appreciated.

What Is A Bone Marrow Aspiration?

I am 17 years old and i have severe iron deficiency and Anemia!! My Hemoglobin stays aroud 8.0 and my ferritin levels stay at less than 1! THis makes me vey tired all the time, lightheaded and dizzy….and not to mention the headaches that i have been getting lately!! I hany tests lately and now my doctor wants me to have a bone marrow aspiration to check to see if i have something called APLASTIC ANEMIA!! I am really scared i don’t now what this is and i am scared that this test will hurt!!
Does the Bone marrow Biopsy hurt?
Will they sedate me so that i will not feel anything?
What exactly is Aplastic Anemia?
Does this mean that i may have some sort of cancer!

What Is The Best Organization To Do A Breast Cancer Awareness Walk For?

There are a lot of breast cancer and other awareness type of walks this year and I’d like to participate in some, but I’m not sure which organizations use the money that I raise most effectively. Any opinions? I was thinking about doing the 3-day or maybe something earlier.

Ferret Owners – Heres A Question For You!?

After a lot of thinking after seeing an Ad, im quite sure i want to get a ferret. The ad was asking if anyone could give a loving home to their female ferret of 6 months old as they will be unable to look after it. I thought maybe someone else might reply but after a long time of waiting, nobody has and im willing to give it a chance seeing as nobody has.

Doing my research, as it may be the first time i will be the owner of a ferret, i found out that females should be spayed or they can suffer from aplastic anemia and die. Is this always the case, or is it rare? If she is not spayed but she breeds once, for example, will that reduce the chances?
Any advice or comments which can help me are very welcome.

Can A Child Have Autism And Still Be Social?

I have been reading up on autism and Asperger’s Syndrome a lot lately because we have some concerns about our four year old son. He fits the characteristics of Asperger’s Syndrome except for one thing, children with Asperger’s are typically known to be very anti-social. Our son is the most social child we have ever seen. In fact we get comments all the time on how out-going and social he is.
So my question is, can a child have an autism spectrum disorder and still be social?
