Does Anyone Have Any Ideas How I Can Raise Autism Awareness In My School?

I will be a senior in high school this fall. After high school i want to be a special education teacher and work with autistic kids. A lot of people in my school make fun of kids in the special education classes and I’m sick of it. I think it is mostly because they do not understand. I this problem can be solved and someone needs to do something, and start somewhere. Anyone have any ideas how i can raise autism awareness in my high school?

People With Hiv & Aids Would You To Be Part Or An Awareness Idea I Have?

I close family friend of mine has HIV. He became HIV+ about 18 yrs ago. He has lived a very good life, But these last few years his light has started to fade, he has become very ill. But even now he is still part of HIV & AIDs awareness.
But these last couple of years you hardly hear anything about aids awareness. I hear more about smoking from those truth group then anything else.
So I have an idea that i need help with. I want to cause awareness in the best way i know how, throw my photography. I would like to take photos of people with HIV & AIDs here in the U.S. of all races, all ages and all sexual orientation, and all stages. I want to say Look at all these different people that suffer from this disease. Not just blacks, or gays but all types of people. I want to give You a voice with out saying a word. I know it its a big project but i’m hoping to get this project out there and once done, into some galleries and hopefully raise some money for HIV & AIDs awareness.

I live in Dallas and that’s where this project will start. Please anyone willing to help or give me info on where i can go to get my project started and/or get some funding

How Do I Begin To Prepare For The Breast Cancer Three Day Walk?

What types of things do people do to prepare for this?

I will have to walk 20 miles a day (with a group so we will need to get fit together) and it will go to raise funds for Breast Cancer research. = )

How Do People Pay For Aba Therapy For Their Children With Autism?

My 2 year old son has just been diagnosed with Autism and we are told he will need ABA therapy. I have started to check on this and it is SO expensive. The cheapest I can find here where we live in COlorado is over $1,000 a month. I just want to know how people afford this. I can not afford to do this but I cant seem to find any help in paying for this for him. I want to get him all the therapy he needs but not sure how finacially to do this. I found out that I can get Medicade to help pay for
part of it but it takes over a year to get in the system.

Untill then I feel a little lost. My insurance will pay for him to get Speech therapy but no luck with the ABA part. I hear good things about this type of therapy and how it really helps children and want to do whatever I can for him. He is so young and early intervention with therapy will really help him but not sure what to do next. Does anyone know of any financal help to get therapy for children with Autism. Any help appricated.
